Tips for Winter 2006: Blog Tips
»
Write like you mean it. There's
nothing more compelling than persuasive,
informed writing. The more you focus on
what you know, your core areas of competency,
the more engaging the final copy will be.
Don't worry about emulating a popular voice.
Be honest. Be open. Be real.
» Reach
out . Don't limit your blogging
reach by staying with a small circle of
colleagues. Read well written blogs that
fall outside of your areas of expertise.
Participate in the dialogue. Move beyond
the comfortable.
» Be
stubborn. If you are blogging
to get an instant fan base, stop blogging.
If, however, you are interested in writing
because you are passionate about the topic,
you will eventually get readers. Get past
the ego. Try and ask as many fellow bloggers
what they like or do not like about your
blog, and make improvements.
Good luck!
